The Conversion

Fieldbot has pioneered a new predictive early-warning system.

Rather than replacing the global installed base of irrigation pivots already deployed and operating across millions of irrigated acres, Fieldbot can universally retrofit virtually any brand, make, and model of electrically driven irrigation pivot by inserting a patented Motor Optimization Controller (MOC)—a new proprietary intelligence layer—at every wheel tower between the electric center drive gearmotor and the legacy electromechanical tower control, while leaving all legacy controls fully intact.

For added convenience, the MOC can be installed at ground level on the lower base beam of each irrigation pivot wheel tower—providing easy access for installation, maintenance, removal, and redeployment without modifying the existing machine structure or legacy controls.

All Fieldbot UltraCore™ Precision Upgrades incorporate patented position-based predictive analytics (U.S. Patent No. 10,384,557) that continuously correlate each wheel tower’s precise location, using onboard GPS data, with historical electric-power consumption across different operating speeds—generating a machine-performance heat map of both speed-specific and location-specific operating profiles across the field.

As the UltraCore™-upgraded irrigation pivot moves continuously throughout the entire growing season, the system compares real-time power demand against historical trends at each position—enabling it to detect anomalous operating conditions, anticipate excessive loads, and provide early warning of potential drivetrain, wheel-track, or other machine-performance issues on a location-specific, tower-by-tower basis, immediately alerting the local mobile service technician before those issues become costly failures.

In addition, Fieldbot UltraCore™ Precision Upgrades non-invasively interface with existing irrigation pivot OEM mechanical and computerized main control panels and remote telemetry systems—requiring no operator learning curve, behavioral change, or disruption to existing operating practices.

Best of all, there is no new end-user interface—the upgrades just work.

This 50-year technological leap transforms existing mixed-fleet, electrically driven irrigation pivots from traditional, slow, unreliable, imprecise start-stop move irrigation pivot operation to patented “constant move”—the holy grail of mechanized irrigation—reducing wheel-track rutting, stuck machines, structural stress, and drivetrain wear while simultaneously eliminating application spoking, reducing water and nitrogen runoff, improving water-use efficiency (WUE), and, most importantly, unlocking UltraFast™ Constant Move operation.

As an added advantage, Fieldbot UltraCore™ Precision Upgrades uniquely enable an economically viable Solutions-as-a-Service business model.

Rather than purchasing autonomous retrofit technology outright, customers can elect a three-year subscription service for the plug-and-play Fieldbot UltraCore™ Precision Upgrades Kit, including professional installation, setup, maintenance, and warranty coverage—as well as annual removal and redeployment when customers rent ground or rotate crops between fields—all delivered through their local service provider, which can optionally contract with local independent irrigation pivot construction crews for in-field support.

This model transforms what has historically been a one-time capital equipment purchase into predictable annual recurring revenue (ARR) while lowering customer adoption barriers, strengthening dealer relationships, increasing lifetime customer value, and accelerating the deployment of autonomous agriculture across the global installed base of mixed-fleet, electrically driven irrigation pivots.

Over the next several years, converting every wheel tower of every existing mixed-fleet, electrically driven irrigation pivot from traditional, slow, start-stop move irrigation pivot operation to UltraFast™ Constant Move creates a multi-billion-dollar precision upgrades opportunity—transforming giant, antiquated watering systems—the “pre-inference iron”—into smooth, fast, reliable, precise, intelligent, connected, autonomous crop platforms that accelerate smart agriculture while ushering in the future of farming in the Intelligence Age, where speed becomes power and intelligence becomes infrastructure.
